• New release of the Global Transport Label European Profile

  In September 2016, Odette published a new version of its European Profile of the Global Transport Label – GTL EPv2 (LL08). The review provided the opportunity to modernise the label through the use of new bar coding technologies but the over-riding objective was to reduce the variety in current implementations of the original GTL in the European automotive industry.

• Odette Returnable Packaging Management toolkit is now complete

  In September 2017, Odette published its Best Practice Recommendation ‘Packaging Management Guidelines’ (LG14) which was the result of a number of OEMs, Tier suppliers and LSPs from across Europe as well as Odette National Organisations working together to define the essential preconditions to packaging management.

• Publication: Capturing Supply Chain Events with auto-ID

  Auto ID technologies are used extensively in the automotive industry to manage assets, track the movement of parts and materials throughout the supply chain and document their use in production. This is done by reading 1D or 2D bar-codes or RFID tags at various stages in the logistics process and the product life-cycle.

• What next for Global MMOG/LE

  The current version of Global MMOG (Version 4) was first released in 2014 and now needs to be reviewed in order to ensure that it takes account of the constant evolutions in supply chain processes and technology. A team of supply chain experts from Odette and AIAG member companies has therefore been assembled and is meeting on a weekly basis to define the new requirements for Version 5 of the tool.

• MMOG.np makes MMOG/LE Assessments more efficient

  Although the current Excel based MMOG/LE tool has served the industry well over the past decade, Odette has now developed a modern browser based application called MMOG.np (new platform) to take its place. MMOG/LE users from both sides of the Atlantic have been involved in the development and testing of this new platform to ensure that it meets not only the current needs but also the ‘wish lists’ of both customers and suppliers in the automotive supply chain.
